Setting Up Your eSIM

Do this at home, on Wi-Fi, before you travel. It takes about two minutes. Your data allowance does not start until you arrive at your destination.

iPhone

  1. Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. Open the email from CometSIM and keep the QR code to hand — open it on a second screen, or use the manual code printed below it.
  3. Go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code.
  4. Scan the QR code. If you cannot scan it, tap "Enter Details Manually" and paste the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your email.
  5. Label the new plan "CometSIM" so you can find it later.
  6. Leave the new line switched on, and turn Data Roaming ON for it. This is what makes it work abroad.
  7. Keep your home line as the default for calls.

Android (Samsung, Pixel and most others)

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. Go to Settings → Network & Internet (or Connections) → SIMs → Add eSIM / Download a SIM instead.
  3. Scan the QR code from your email, or enter the activation code manually.
  4. When it finishes, turn the new eSIM ON and enable Data Roaming for it.
  5. Set mobile data to the CometSIM line once you arrive.

When you land

  • Turn Data Roaming ON for the CometSIM line.
  • Set it as your mobile data line.
  • If it does not connect within a minute, switch Airplane Mode on and off, or select the network manually from the operator list.
